John’s earlier background includes ministry as Director of Evangelization in the Diocese of Trenton. In this position he created a monthly/quarterly newsletter, “Vibrant Parish Life,” publicizing diocesan and parish adult formation and ministry training  (circulation: 4,000). This tool helped generate ideas about programming. John’s background also includes ministry as Director of Evangelization in the Diocese of Trenton.

He also co-founded the “Young Adult Evangelization Consultation” (eight diocesan ministries banded together to help parishes evangelize young adults more effectively). The purpose of this group was to help parish leaders reach the 90+% of 20s-30s adults who are not connected with parish life.

As Internet Project Manager for ParishLife.com, offered by RENEW International John published 13 fifty to sixty page online booklets (including interactive workshops) on topics areas such as, “Evangelization,” “Small Christian Communities,” “Ministries,” “Mary,” “Church,” “Holiness,” “Stewardship,” and “Social Justice.”

John and his wife Therese were also co-winner of the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership (NCCL) 2010 New Wineskins Award for extraordinary achievement in innovative catechetical and evangelization efforts on a diocesan level. The award was for the Christmas Carol Festival: A New Way to Reach Inactive Catholics

John has also authored hundreds of  200 articles, audio presentations, and video presentations, music videos, as well as, over 20 online evangelization articles (with handouts) in cooperation with Paulist Evangelization Ministries. The majority of these articles and exercises are now included in the book, Sharing the Faith that You Love.
